Trees are starting to bloom and birds are chirping. The kids are playing outside on our street late into the evening. It's kind of fun to hear them screaming and yelling. The neighborhood is out and about!
Calley came to visit two weekends ago. That was lots of fun. We showed her around Boston. We walked the Freedom trail, went to Modern Pastry, shopping in Back Bay, lots of bananagrams (our new favorite game), etc. I got to spend lots of time with my sister, so that was my favorite part. We didn't even argue! : ) That's pretty good for us! I think she had fun, but she had a hard time adjusting to the time zone. It doesn't help when it's only 9:30 and we head off to bed! : ) And we wake up at 7:00.
After our busy March, we were looking forward to a slower April. However, we haven't seemed to stop. Saturday was busy with normal house things. But that afternoon we headed to the Back Bay to RJ's (Chad's school friend) who lives on Newbury Street (very fancy, very expensive). His apartment building has a roof top, so we spent the afternoon sun there while enjoying delicious snacks, drinks, and playing games. It was a lot of fun with a gorgeous view of the city! Then Sunday was of course Easter. We went to Church and enjoyed a great service and a tasty soulfood. I was chosen to set up the Easter decorations. I bought potted tulips and some candles to set up around the stage, refreshment table, and other welcoming tables. It looked pretty nice in our awkward room. Then after church, our congregation headed out to Walden pond for a few baptisms. We didn't personally know anyone getting baptized, but we wanted to be there with our church supporting those there. And it was at Walden pond, a chance to see Thoreau's favorite spot and enjoy the sun. We finished off the day at our friend's house (Derek & Shelby's) for a BBQ. We just sat out on their back porch chatting in the afternoon sun. It was lovely.
Today we enjoyed $1 scoops at JP Licks (like Coldstone). Yum. Tomorrow we are going to the BU Symphony Concert, courtesy of BUMC (BU Medical Center), which should be fun! This weekend is also packed out. Friday night is our newlywed small group - which we absolutely love by the way. Chad is leading this Friday's discussion. Saturday night we are having dinner with a girl from my work and her husband. And Sunday evening we are going to a dinner party with one of Chad's friends from school.
I took a few pictures around the house today, just fun photos to share with you. Maybe things you haven't seen (either because they're new or you haven't been to our place yet - which you are all invited!).
I love all the pictures of your house... I REALLY want to come see. :( Miss you!
